Australia visit May 19 to June 2 2016

Upon arrival at Melbourne airport on May 20, 2016 at 8:00 pm, I was met by the President of Cebuano Association of Australia. We then proceeded to the residence of Nokie and Liling Lontayao, a schoolmate in Don Bosco Technical High School and a friend Presiano "Presing". I am grateful with the way the group of Boy and Fe Lawa welcomed me in Australia.
The anniversary on May 21, 2016, where I was guest speaker was also the oath taking ceremony of new officers of the Cebuano Association of Australia, Inc.
The new officers are: President Mr. Harold Mollaneda, Vice President Mr. Cecile Tarona, Secretary Ms. Susanna Norris, Treasurer Mrs Lyn Montera, Auditor Ms. Nelia Ciar, PRO Ms. Gina Chalupa. Congratulations. I am informed that the organization, holds election every two years, to give opportunity to all members to volunteer their services for the association.
On Sunday May 22, 2016 ,we attended holy mass at Our Lady's Church. The community together with the priest blessed Boy and Fe Lawa's 40th wedding anniversary.
The Lawa children have grown up and building up their life as Australian citizens.
God bless the Cebuanos in Australia. May their tribe increase in peace and harmony.

second of a series on APPLICATION OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TO NATURAL FARMING

SPECIAL FEATURES:

1. EXPAND COMMUNICATION CAPABILITIES BY CALLING A SOUND AMPLIFIER AND WITHOUT A TECHNICIAN OR HUMAN INTERVENTION, THE MACHINE ACTS ON THE MESSAGE TRANSMISSION THEREBY A FARM MANAGER CAN TALK TO A LARGE GROUP OF FARMERS IN A LARGE AND DISTANT AREA. FEEDBACK CAN ALSO BE HEARD FROM THE LISTENERS.

2. APPLY DIGITAL OR MECHANICAL CONTROL TIMERS TO DISTRIBUTE WATER TO THE PLANT ON SPECIFIC SCHEDULES THEREBY REDUCING TIME AND EFFORT OF FARMERS TO WATER THE PLANT.

3. INSTALL AN INNOVATIVE  METHOD OF FEEDING BIRDS BY PROVIDING FEEDS FOR A WEEKLY OR A NUMBER OF DAYS CONSUMPTION REQUIREMENT INSTEAD OF FEEDING DAILY

4. USE THE WATER FROM A CATFISH FISHPOND TO WATER THE PLANT FOR PLANT FERTILIZER. RAISE FISH THOUGH WITH LIMITED WATER RESOURCE BY RAISING PANTAT OR CATFISH

5. LEARN TO PROPAGATE BREADFRUIT THROUGH MARCOTTING AS PREPARATION FOR DROUGHT. BREADFRUIT CAN WITHSTAND DROUGHT.  DURING STORMY WEATHER, BREADFRUIT REMAIN STEADFAST AND CONTINUE TO BEAR FRUITS FOR BOTH ANIMAL AND HUMAN CONSUMPTION.

6. LEARN THE ADVANTAGES OF PLANTING AND EATING ROOT CROPS FOR HEALTH AND DURING FOOD CRISES. ROOT CROPS ARE NUTRITIOUS AND CAN WITHSTAND CLIMATE CHANGES.

Dear _______________,
Subject:   Invitation to participate in a seminar-workshop entitled “2nd series on EXECUTIVE SEMINAR ON APPLICATION OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ON NATURAL AND ORGANIC AGRICULTURE”: an integrated approach to Community Enterprise Development”

Good day!

This is about Community Development and an approach to utilize Science and Technology in the education and coordination through a system of a low cost but highly effective communication technology and water control.

Communicating through a public address system in a remote community is a reliable method. This, however, is enhanced with the application of cell phones and the android technology where a public address facility can be activated and utilized as the need arises without human intervention.

This will be demonstrated during the activity.

This 10-hr seminar-workshop is expected to provide the participants an opportunity to experience the application of science and technology in an integrated agriculture system in an arm-chair setting.

The facilitators and resource persons designed this seminar to introduce organic agriculture, a subject which is gathering the interest of the community to participate in the effort to improve the quality of life.

EXPECTED BENEFITS TO THE PARTICIPANTS
1.       Experience a remote presentation through a sound system for coordination and farmers information
2.       Draw a basic integrated farm plan containing a fish pond, animal cage and  bird cage
3.       Explain the steps on how an integrated farm functions
4.       Use S&T in an integrated farm to reduce labor in a farm
5.       Install a time delay system and pumping system for water distribution
6.       Explain the feed preparation in farm level
7.            IN VIEW OF THE POLICY TO ASSIST  THOSE INTERESTED IN NATURAL FARMING, ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE TREATED AS ADVOCATES, HENCE, IT IS THE OBLIGATION OF THE ORGANIZER TO SUPPORT THEIR ACTIVITIES WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM THE COMPLETION OF THE SEMINAR.
8.            FOLLOW-UP TO PARTICIPANTS WILL BE CONDUCTED TO ENSURE THAT KNOWLEDGE ON THE NATURAL FARMING SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGIES WILL BE FULLY UNDERSTOOD AND APPLIED. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH DIRECT INFORMATION THROUGH CELL PHONES, EMAILS AND VISITS TO FARMS WHENEVER NECESSARY.

WHAT EACH PARTICIPANT CAN BRING HOME
